How supremely depressing that our current and possibly future generations will be this inane. Perhaps their energies would be better focused on intelligence and being productive rather than sophomoric attempts to impress the plebeians with how “ironic” they are.

III. Oh, you want more specificity? There are several dozen really great blogs, five great major newspapers, a dozen or so really excellent newsmagazines, Italian baroque music, the literature of the 1920s, French cooking, German idealists, and British television. In a broader sense, trees and animals; learning; wisdom. I know many excellent people. But beyond that, it’s pure unsneering disapproval.

Everyone’s a hipster now. It’s just funny you create a counter-culture (hessians) to hipster-dumb which ultimately is equivalent to the hipster lifestyle. Sad.
